We spent a long weekend in Sweden to see some friends in both Gothenburg and Stockholm. Luckily we had locals to point us to the “must-sees”. In Gothenburg it consisted of walking tour of some amazing restaurants and bars where we emerged at 1am to discover the sun was only just setting.
In Stockholm we had time to explore on foot to see the beautiful old town area of Gamla Stan including The Royal Palace and beautiful harbour. If you’re into your Swedish fashion labels then visiting the famous Acne store (occupying the beautiful old bank where the term ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ originated), and other personal Swedish favourites; the Totem store and Our Legacy store and eating at Café Pom & Flora
Visiting the Nationalmuseum and the Moderna Museet are also an absolute must. You can view iconic European paintings and sculptures from across the centuries and also a history of ingenious and beautiful Swedish design.
