Situated within a historic Victorian terrace, Hey Darling House is an ode to colour, rich texture and the exploration of how an inner-city home can feel light, airy and playfully sophisticated.

From the outset, we considered the clients’ plans to expand their family. With the arrival of their first child during the design phases, we ensured the home feels enduring, robust, and timeless, a space they can grow into for years to come.

The design approach sought to create a series of spaces that each carry their own atmosphere and character, allowing the home to unfold as a sequence of experiences rather than a single, uniform interior. By considering consistent language of details, materials, textures, and colour, applied in thoughtful and unexpected ways throughout the house, we created unique and playful spaces for the family to grow and foster memories.

With subtle colour drenching, this space still feels timeless, while the pops of colour add vitality and elegance without overwhelming the rooms. 

The result is a home grounded in longevity - robust in its construction, timeless in its aesthetic, and flexible enough to adapt as family life evolves, offering a sense of comfort and belonging for many years to come.
