Cove House
Welcome to Cove House.
Cove House reimagines the classic Scandinavian palette for a contemporary Australian home. Guided by the client's love of colour, the design explores contrast through joinery, differing tiled surfaces, patterns and a whole lot of fun.
Cove House is an ode to colour, restrained in some moments, and confidently expressive in others. The brief began with a Scandinavian influence and a deliberate absence of beige. We developed a contemporary interpretation through clean lines, stainless steel, butter yellow, soft blues, sage greens and considered moments of red.
Cove House was never intended to feel overtly ‘Scandi’; details such as the dining area and breakfast nook evoke the feeling of stepping into a café in Copenhagen, while remaining distinctly connected to its Sydney setting.
While some are often hesitant to embrace strong colours and bold patterns, the owners of Cove House were eager to challenge convention and create a home that felt distinctly different from the interiors they regularly encountered on social media. Cove House, however, was never intended to feel overtly Scandi, instead, it is an ode to colour, restrained in some areas and confidently bold in others. The details seen in the dining area and breakfast nook evoke the feeling of stepping into a café in Copenhagen, whilst still remaining distinctly connected to its water-side Sydney setting. The result is a considered merging of both worlds.
