Tucked away in the historic suburb of Annandale, Checkmate House is a stunning example of a preserved Victorian semi-detached villa.

Our client wanted an interior that was still in keeping with the traditional features of the home, with an injection of colour, contemporary features and a space that accommodates her friends and family.

Quite literally, Checkmate House is the sister home of our, Young St Loft project. The client of Checkmate House is the sister of our previous client, who lives right down the road. Both sisters have vibrant personalities and both their homes reflect their shared love of colour, texture and one-off pieces.

Working with 12-foot ceilings, aged brass, viola marble, playful textiles and ornate details, we were able to inject energy and breathe life into this once-inert home by completely transforming each interior space.
